    Any fire station close to you will happy to check you blood at no charge to you.  Remember to check to check your blood pressure often if you have high blood pressure, family history, or other high risk factors.

    Absolutely, please contact us at (401) 658-0544.  We are also happy to bring a fire truck to an event as long as it is in the district of Cumberland Hill.

  • Wh at do I do if my fire extinguisher needs to be recharged.

    There are several companies that specialize in sales, testing and maintenance of extinguishing products. They are listed in the phone book or online.

  • When an emergency vehicle is approaching that is displaying emergency lights and sirens, what should I do?

    By Rhode Island law, you are required to pull to the right and stop regardless of what lane you are in.  This allows fire apparatus adequate and clear lanes to safely and quickly continue its response.

  • Why do so many fire apparatus respond  incidents?

    When there is a fire alarm activation, or there is a report of a fire, The dispatcher most commonly sends; 3 engine companies, 1 ladder truck, 1 ALS ambulance, and 1 fire chief .This is the result of strategic planning and preparation coordinated by the fire chiefs in accordinance with National Guidelines, Also due to the fact there are so many tasks needed to be completed with very little time to complete them.  It is always better to enough help than to not have enough.

  • Why does the fire truck go to medical calls?

    It is the policy of the Cumberland Hill Fire Department, That all career firefighters are required to be, at the least; a Licensed Emergency Medical Technician-Basic.  This licenses allow the crews to provide emergency life saving care to the sick and injured. Cumberland Hill Fire District apparatus are licensed non-transport BLS (Basic Life Support) ambulances, Engine companies assist the paramedics on the rescue to provide the best care possible for the patient. In the district of Cumberland Hill we feel that the citizens deserve the best care possible, this is why we respond to any and all medical calls in the Cumberland Hill Fire District.

  • How can I join the Cumberland Hill Fire Department?

    The application period for career firefighter is currently closed. However we may be hiring call firefighters. There are three ways you can find more information on joining the call force.
